ABOUT US

Hog Hammock Public Library was founded in 2002, and in 2006 it became a member of Three Rivers Regional Library System, which includes 8 libraries serving six counties in Southeast Georgia. 

Our library is located in McIntosh County, Ga., on Sapelo Island, a barrier island accessible only by a state-run passenger ferry or private boat. If you would like to visit our library, you must make arrangements in advance. Send an e-mail to hoghammock @ gmail.com, or call (912) 485-2291 during our regular hours.

The Sapelo Island ferry dock is located about 8 miles northeast of Darien, Ga., off Georgia Hwy 99 (follow the small brown signs).The ferry is $2 round-trip. You must have a reservation with the library before visiting the island. (The library will submit a ferry reservation for you.)
