2013 "Muslim Journeys" Events
Film: Prince Among Slaves
Saturday, June 1, 2013, 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
In 1788, Abdul Rahman, an African prince and a Muslim, was captured in West Africa, transported across the Atlantic ocean and sold to a farmer in Natchez, Mississippi. For the next 40 years, he fought for his freedom and the freedom of his family. This PBS documentary tells the story of his remarkable life and his ultimate return to Africa.

Digging Up Sapelo's Past with Archaeologist Dr. Nicholas Honerkamp
